In this fascinating episode, Ruffneck – AKA PATRICK VAN KERCKHOVEN – talks about how, taking inspiration from UK and US music in the late 1980s, he accidentally helped create the blueprint for the current massive Dutch rave scene which regularly hosts huge hardcore festivals and multi-arena events, by first failing to make Chicago house, and then creating a load of aliases to his famous label to make the scene appear bigger than it was.

Patrick will also tell how Scottish rave Rezerection – where he’ll be appearing at a reunion later this year – became a second home for him in the ’90s, and he reveals a secret rivalry with Scottish legend SCOTT BROWN, which resulted in him making his all-time classic track, JIIIEEHHAAA, in a matter of minutes, out of revenge for Scott sampling all his tunes!

We’ll also hear about how Patrick lost the rights to Ruffneck and went through a painful process involving an expensive court case to get it back, and how he’s managed to survive the pandemic by being deliberately frugal throughout his career.
